Working with multiple pets
Fluffy's Log supports multiple pet management.
How to pop and hide the pet list drawer:
- Click on the "Pet list" button on the bottom right corner to toggle pop and hide the pet list drawer.
Pets stored in Fluffy's Log are viewable as a list in a drawer located on the right hand side of the application window. Males are color-coded blue, females pink, other genders white, while current selected pet is distinguised by a yellow halo.
How to check on Fluffy:
- Pop the pet list drawer if it is hidden.
- Find or search, and click on Fluffy in the pet list.
The above steps will display Fluffy's data in its full glory.
How to search for Fluffy:
- Pop the pet list drawer if it is hidden.
- Type 'Fluffy' in the search field at the top of the drawer.
Searching is done by partial matches on the pet name. Pets with name not containing the search text will be filtered off from the display list in the drawer. The corresponding number of pets in the list is then displayed in full view to the world at the bottom left corner.
How to add Fluffy:
- Pop the pet list drawer if it is hidden.
- Click on the "+" button at the bottom of the pet list drawer.
Adding Fluffy puts the pet at the end of the pet list drawer. Since Fluffy's Log at the moment is still figuring out how to predict human desire at a 100%, you most probably would have to change the application preset pet name.
Pet addition is currently disallowed when you are in search mode. Clear the search field before adding Fluffy.
How to clone Fluffy:
- Pop the pet list drawer if it is hidden and select Fluffy for cloning.
- Click on the "Edit" menu item.
- Click on the submenu item "Clone Pet".
The clone of Fluffy will retain most of Fluffy's information, except for data which is very specific to the individual pet, for example Fluffy's identification, medication, growth, schedule and lost poster information.
How to delete Fluffy:
- Pop the pet list drawer if it is hidden.
- Find and click on the pet you want to terminate.
- Click on the "-" button at the bottom of the pet list drawer.
Deleting Fluffy will launch an investigation into Fluffy's lineage. A deletion confirmation will be requested if Fluffy is found to be a parent or a child of some other pet. Fluffy's Log will proceed to remove any trace of Fluffy from its lineage if you decide with no doubt to terminate him. Tell your trembling index finger not to shake that much before clicking that delete button because undoing deletion within the same application launch is lossless. i.e. Undo preserves every single piece of the original pet information.
